Domain Separation

The Cetegra Care Sub-Tenant Platform Architecture, also known as Domain Separation, enables administrative tasks and data to be separated into logical groupings known as domains.

Cegal, the owner of Cetegra Care, can manipulate the parameters of this separation in various ways.

Domain Separation in Cetegra Care allows us to offer each of our customers a secure, private environment within our instance. Each customer domain can house a unique set of data, inaccessible to other domains.

Shared across all domains, the instance possesses global properties, data, and processes. This setup allows us to ensure complete data segregation between customer domains while benefiting from the centralized management of a single Cetegra Care instance.

Our customers, the tenants, “reside in” the Cetegra Care instance, with each tenant having its dedicated domain in a domain-separated instance as demonstrated below.

Domain Hierarchies

Domains are organized in a hierarchy to categorize multiple domains and delineate their relationships.

The TOP domain, the root domain in the hierarchy, is associated only with process records. These records define universal processes and platform elements that span the entire instance. Customer domains contain data unique to each customer.

Data separation

Following the hierarchy, members of a domain can access only the data within their domain or the child domains lower in the hierarchy. The built-in security constraints of the domain separation architecture prevent a domain from accessing data in parent domains, peer domains, or domains in other branches of the hierarchy.

For instance, Cegal can access data for both Alpha and its child companies and Beta and its child company because Cegal resides at the top of the hierarchy. Alpha can access data for both of its child companies. However, A1 and A2 can only access their dedicated data since they reside at the bottom of the hierarchy.
