Prerequisites

System requirements

A dedicated client may be required to access Connect@Plant, depending on the system configuration. This is typically the case if your hardware has not previously been set up for Connect@Plant access.

In some configurations, completed training in the relevant training system is also required before access is granted.

If the host checker is enabled, the F5 plugin will verify your computer’s antivirus status (version, configuration, last update) and OS patch level. In this case the supported environments are:

  • Operating systems: Windows 7, 8, and 10
  • Web browsers: Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11

If the host checker is not enabled, users without the client are automatically routed to the HTML5 client and can access Connect@Plant from any HTML5-capable browser.

Installing the Connect@Plant Client

Download the Connect@Plant Client from the location specified by your company.

Run and install C@P Client.msi — local administrator rights are required. The installer makes the following changes to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE:

  • Adds the following to trusted sites: fileuploadconnectatplant, connectatplant, launchconnectatplant
  • Allows pop-ups from connectatplant

All registry entries include the company domain name, for example connectatplant.cegal.com.

F5 VPN Client

The installer includes a pre-extracted version of the BIG-IP Edge Client (no full client installation required). The following components are installed by the CAPF5Client Installer:
